Podcast No. 34 – Tess Degenstein about her personal career, her favourite improv formats and the IMPRO 2016

I’m very pleased that yesterday afternoon, I finally had the opportunity to record a podcast again! Connected to the Berlin Gorillas’ improv festival that just ended, the IMPRO 2016, I invited the enchanting Tess Degenstein from Canada for an interview. Tess is playing improv already since she was nine, and if you have experienced her live on stage, you’ll know that she’s irradiating that with every pore of her body. Already two years ago, she outshined a couple of other players with her performance at IMPRO 2014 here in Berlin. Therefore it’s not surprising, that the Gorillas have invited her again this year. How she came to that – i.e. both to improv and to the Gorillas’ festival – she’s telling in this interview. Podcast No. 33 – Nils Petter Mørland about ‘Det andre Teatret’ and their Romantic Comedy format ‘And then they met’

Today, an extremely charming young man visited me in my small home studio in Berlin-Neukölln, to talk to me about one of my favourite topics: Love! And Improv. Nils Petter Mørland and four peers (Mats, Henrik, Kristin & Catherine) from his ensemble “Det Andre Teatret” (The Other Theatre) from Oslo (Norway) have performed an extraordinary superb improvised Romantic Comedy on the evening before (7th Jan. 2016). Already back in August during the Gothenburg Improfest, I was rapt away by their format “And then they met”.
Nils is the Artistic Director of the ensemble and in this interview, that I had the pleasure to conduct with him, he talks about himself, the (hi)story of “Det Andre Teatret” and of course about their Romantic Comedy format. Am Anfang dieser Weihnachtswoche hat es mich nach Hamburg verschlagen, wo ich die große Freude hatte, mit Katie Freudenschuss in deren heimischer Küche in Hamburg-Neustadt zu sprechen. Neben ihrem aktuellen Solo-Bühnenprogramm (“Bis Hollywood is’ eh zu weit”) spricht Katie über ihre Biografie, wie sie zur Musik und nach Hamburg, und schließlich zum Impro-Theater gekommen ist. Podcast Nr. 30 – Charlotte Wolff und Ralf Schulze über ihre Arbeit als Impro-Spieler und Gag-Autoren

Dieses Wochenende haben mich Ralf Schulze und Charlotte Wolff besucht, um mit mir zusammen die 30. Folge meines Podcasts aufzunehmen! Das kann kein Zufall sein: Der 30. Podcast und dann mit drei Personen! Die beiden erzählen über ihre gemeinsame Arbeit als als Comedy-Lehrer, Gag-Autoren, improvisierte Stadtführer und natürlich, über das Impro-Spielen. Neben einer Anleitung, wie man selbst Gags schreiben kann, entwickeln wir interessante neue Impro-Formate, und erfahren, dass Ralfs Frisur trotz frappierender Ähnlichkeit nicht das Vorbild für Alfons Puschelmikrofon war. Podcast Nr. 29 – Agata Lattka über Pole Dance, die Burlesque-Philosophie und warum jede Frau sexy sein kann

Heute hatte ich das Vergnügen, meine ehemalige Mitschülerin Agata Lattka zu interviewen (Agata und ich haben – zusammen mit Stefanie Winny, die ich hier ja auch schon interviewen durfte – zusammen Abi gemacht und hatten mehrere Jahre zusammen Deutsch-Leistungskurs und Philosophie an der gleichen Schule – an dieser Stelle Grüße an Herrn Heidrich!!). Obwohl Agata und ich sogar ähnliche Fächer studiert haben, haben wir uns nach der Schule aus den Augen verloren und ich habe sie erst vor ein paar Jahren zufällig wiedergetroffen. Da habe ich dann erfahren, dass Agata das erste Berliner Pole Dance Studio eröffnet hat, was ich bereits damals äußerst bemerkenswert fand.
Im Rahmen meines Podcasts, in dem ich Menschen interviewen möchte, die etwas Tolles, Inspirierendes und Außergewöhnliches in ihrem Leben tun, war Agata daher diejenige, die mir als erstes eingefallen ist! 🙂 Deshalb habe ich mich riesig gefreut, dass es heute mit unserem Interview geklappt hat und wünsche Euch viel Spaß beim Anhören! Ich spreche mit Agata über ihr Studio, über Pole Dance und darüber, was es mit der Burlesque-Philophie auf sich hat.

Am heutigen, wunderbar warmen und sonnigen Mittwoch-Abend war der charmante Roland Trescher aus München unter tropischen Bedingungen zu Gast in meinem kleinen Aufnahmestudio. In hochsommerlicher Atmosphäre plauderten wir darüber, wie und warum sich Impro ausgezeichnet zur Persönlichkeitsentwicklung eignet, und warum Roland das Thema “Relevanz” im Impro-Theater so wichtig findet. Podcast No. 26 – Lyndsey Cockwell about the Berlin Pop Choir and the Berlin Pop Ensemble

If you know my podcast, you know that it used to be a pure improv podcast. However, one evening, a couple of weeks ago, I had the wonderful idea to open it up a bit and also talk to people who are not improvisers in the first place, but who do something awesome and very inspiring nevertheless. So, I came up with the idea to interview Lyndsey Cockwell as my first “non-improv guest” in my podcast. And so it came that we met on a sunny Friday afternoon in Lyndseys Flat in Berin-Kreuzberg, to chat about her, the Berlin Pop Choir and the terrible public transport in London. Have fun! Letztes Wochenende habe ich, in einem außerordentlich engen Schedule zwischen einem Impro-Workshop mit den Improbanden und einer Show im Ratibor-Theater im Rahmen der IMPRO 2015, Verena Lohner von der Steifen Brise bei mir zu Hause interviewt. Wir sprechen über Verena und über die Steife Brise, und deren Hintergründe und Werdegänge.
